A relatively new name in UK recruitment advertising (and a pretty funky name at that), we are a team who worked together for five years at a US-owned agency, which we also started up from scratch. Now, three years into the Giraffe experience, we've recreated all the good things from our past — above all, a level of service, creativity and results that have produced an unmatched client retention record — improved on them and added a lot that is new.
So why are we called “Giraffe”?
It's not because we are “sticking our necks out” or have our “heads in the clouds” or because we’re “looking down at the competition” (insert favourite cliché here). Rhyming with "having a laugh" isn't a marketing stance we'd be happy with either.
The fact is Giraffes are non-aggressive, non-hierarchical, sociable animals, who spend a lot of time thinking – they’re just nice creatures all round. We know this because we looked it up.
After we thought “that's a nice name”, when a long legged former colleague complained that she “looked like a baby Giraffe learning to walk in her new shoes.”
